Spring Week - Day One

Day One - Yellow
I have decided to capture all things spring & yellow today. As the weather has turned slightly warmer & all the bulbs in the Gardens have started to poke their heads through the ground.

40 Days & 40 Nights

Having given up sweets for Lent (38 days & counting!) I am starting to crave other things, at the moment its chocolate. I'm not sure if this is helping with the 'being good' & giving something up just to replace it with something else!
Also I find myself day dreaming about a rather expensive suitcase but its pink! I'm thinking that if I manage to go without Sweets for 40 days then I might be able to do it forever & put the money towards said suitcase. It is beautiful tho!
Back to work related matters.....today has been a day of Wedding Consultations. I'm totally gobsmacked by the amount of people asking me to do their Weddings - thanks guys.

St Valentines Day

Well I managed to survive my second Valentines Day in the shop.
Throughout the run up to the 14th of February I was being told mixed reviews of of Valentines Day falling on a Saturday - the majority being that it won't be very good. But I had a very good one considering the state of the countrys finances at the minute, better than last year anyway!
As a Florist I'm not meant to say this.....but I hate Valentines Day!! Its a lot of stress for one day & never seem to understand why Gentlemen seem quite happy to pay for a dozen Red Roses 51 weeks of the year but for one week they rant & rave at how expensive it is - like its my fault I'm charging them more!
Anyway I'm glad its over & would like to thank all my customers, old & new, who supported me this year.

Flying High

I was asked to create a tribute for a gentleman who liked to watch war films. The final idea was
an Aeroplane & a Lancaster Bomber was the Plane of choice.

Happy Birthday Dad!

Today is my Dad's Birthday - Happy Birthday Dad!
As my Boyfriend is in Germany on mission 'Snow Eagle', otherwise known as 'Learn how to Ski on the Tax payers money', we decided to go to one of our Gift wholesalers in Lincoln to top up on Mother's Day gifts. Dad was dragged along but secretly he loves it!

A Lasting Tribute

This week has been a sad one filled with creating Funeral tributes.
The most testing was for a family friend, whos Father has passed away, its always harder to do a tribute for somebody that you knew but special at the same time.
They asked for a Heart of Red Roses, which I used 'Pole Postion' & spray Roses to match with my favourite Greenery at the moment, Ming Fern.
They also has a Wreath of whites & blues - for a Portsmouth supporter. Here I used 'Avalance' Roses, white mini Gerbera, September, blue Delphinium, Eucalyptus & my favourite Flower of the moment - Muscari.

Happy New Year

Well I have been totally rubbish at keeping this updated recently but I discovered that there are not enough hours in the day in December!
I had a very successful first Christmas in the shop & would like to thank all my customers who have supported me throughout the year.
There was meant to be lots of pictures of all the lovely things I created & sold but that just didn't happen - sorry!!
I shall try my hardest to be a better blogger this year x
