Sarah & Pete Saturday 6th June 2009

This is the Wedding of Sarah & Pete, the theme was burgundy so we decided to team dark red Roses with cream & lime green.
Sarah's Bouquet was a traditional shower of 'Black Baccara' & 'Vendela' Roses, dark red spray Roses, lime green Hypericum & soft Ruscus

Love 'em or hate 'em!

Brassica or Ornamental Cabbage, I am finding that people either really like or really hate them.

For example, I recently made up a Bouquet of flowers for a customer who was giving them to his wife for a special Anniversary, I put a few of the Brassica in. From talking to him I got the impression she didn't like 'traditional' flowers so I thought these were something abit different.

OH MY GOSH how I was wrong!! I came into work the next day to find a very nice (major sarcasm used there!) answer phone message from the recipient of the Bouquet & boy she wasn't happy because there were cabbages in it!

I don't know whether it was she just didn't like them or was just plain ignorant & thought I had actually stuck a cabbage in there for the hell of it. The word ungrateful come to mind.

This is one of the many joys of working with the general public, theres nothing as queer as folk!

More Photo's from Cheryl & Tom's Wedding 29th May 2009

I now have some of the professional photographs of the flowers in action!

I really like this photo of the Bride Cheryl wearing her Wrist Corsage of a white Peony, bright red Hypericum Berries & Greenery.

Bride, Groom, Bridesmaid & Best Man all looking very smart!

Third Wedding - Jackie & Richard 30th May 2009

Everything went swimmingly with this Wedding.
The photographs are great though, didn't really get a chance to wait until the time of the Wedding to get some 'action' shots unfortunately.

The Bridesmaid's carried Hand-tied Bouquets of white Roses, Freesia, mini Calla Lillies & looped Bear Grass. The stems were bound with brown ribbon to match their dresses.
Jackie's Bouquet was a wired structure made from twigs. The Phalenopsis Orchids were then wired onto the twigs. It was quite a patience testing Bouquet! It's a shame I didn't get to see it being held properly.

The male Buttonholes were mini Calla Lillies with Bear Grass loops & twigs to match the Brides Bouquet.
The Ladies wore a Phalenopsis Orchid also with Bear Grass loops & twigs.
All Saint's Church in Loughborough was decorated with white Roses, Greenery & a white & brown bow attached to the Pews.

The reception was at the Yew Lodge Hotel in Kegworth.
The tables were decorated with a tall Lily Vase filled with large Calla Lillies, white Roses, Freesia, Bear Grass & twigs.

Second Wedding - Vicki & Dean Saturday 30th May 2009

This Wedding caused a few stressful moments.
Vicki's colour theme was turquoise - not the most easiest colour to get a flower in & secondly the flower of choice was Gerbera. Defiantly not available in turquoise!
We decided after several trail runs that the best thing to do was to use a spray to get the colour that Vicki wanted.
I discovered that Gerbera's don't like to be sprayed turquoise when I really need them to! I tried to get organised & started to spray the Gerbera's two days before but they didn't quite make it so I lost rather alot of them.
Vicki was probably the most excited Bride I have meant so far & she knew exactly what she wanted so when she cane in the day before for a nosy I was quite nervous to see her reaction but the flowers were greeted with squeals & jumping. Phew!

The Bridesmaids wore turquoise dresses so they carried Hand-tied's of white Mini Gerberas with Diamantes placed in the centre. The stems were bound with turquoise ribbon to match their dresses.Vicki walking down the Aisle with her Bouquet of white Mini Gerbera with a few sprayed turquoise.

Vicki only needed a small Bouquet as she was so dainty anything bigger would have drown her.
Dean's turquoise Buttonhole with Lemon Grass loops to match his cravat.

Pedestal of white flowers including Delphinium, Roses, Lilies, Gerberas & turquoise Gerbera.

The Pew Ends were decorated with Gerbera, Rose & Hosta Leaf finished with white & turquoise bows.

The tables at the Reception were decorated with small Vases of Gerbera, Rose & Ting Ting sprayed turquoise. The Vase was filled with water beads.

Many congratulations to Vicki, Dean & their daughter Georgia.
